Jim McAdam, EA and Owner, grew up in Western New York. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting specializing in Individual Taxation. After spending time in the corporate world in the heart of Portland, OR and Buffalo, NY he moved to the San Juan Islands and established Island Tax Service in August of 2001.
Jim has an easy going, charismatic approach with a New York attitude that occasionally shines through. Those traits paired with a business mindset, hard work ethic, dedication and attention to detail remain at the heart of Island Tax Service today and inspired his two simple goals: saving islanders from a trip off-island by providing them with their tax needs, including rapid refund loans and IRS e-file, and keeping the prices reasonable to enable people to afford professional tax help in order to keep the money in our local economy.
Outside of business hours, Jim enjoys riding his motorcycle, working on projects around the house and spending time with family and friends.
